A Small Goal, A Big Encouragement
I want to share something with you.
Seventeen people have become new Founding Members of The Cabarrus Compass since my one-year anniversary on April 23. Seventeen neighbors who read this publication and decided it was worth investing in. I definitely didn’t expect that, but it’s really encouraging.
So, I’ve set a small goal for myself: reaching 20 new Founding Members before May 23. I’m now just three away — though I’d certainly love to surpass that number if possible.
If you’ve been reading along and wondering whether to take the step, this is what it looks like:
$150 for a full year, which is $50 off the regular rate, available until May 23rd. Every news story delivered to your inbox; no algorithm, no corporate filter, just independent reporting on the people, places, and decisions that shape life in this county. Plus your choice of a Cabarrus Compass T-shirt or tote bag.
Investments like the Founding Member tier make it possible for me to keep doing this full-time, and ensures someone will be at the meetings nobody else covers, making the calls and building the trust that gets people to talk.
Every person who joins makes it a little more possible for The Cabarrus Compass to still be here next year, and well into the future.

Thank you for being here.

Chris, I value your reporting and would sign up immediately if I was gainfully employed right now.
I just wanted to at least let you know you have another fan. As soon as I can I am signing up!
Chris, I’m sharing your Founding Members info with as many as I can—Just need a day or two to recover from an injury and then prepare for county meeting. I will let folks at this meeting on May 21 know, too.
