At R. Brown McAllister Elementary School, rising third through fifth graders recently stood beneath parachuted Santa Clauses, watching them drift gently to the ground. It wasn’t just festive fun — it was science in action.

The holiday-themed activity, part of a two-week summer camp hosted by the Academic Learning Center (ALC), used hands-on STEM projects to teach students about velocity. It was just one of many creative moments designed to make learning joyful and engaging.
