With only about three weeks until early voting begins, April Cook and Kevin Crutchfield, the candidates for N.C. Senate District 34, met Thursday evening for a cordial forum at Central United Methodist Church in downtown Concord.
Moderated by longtime former Independent Tribune editor Mark Plemmons, the roughly 80-minute forum touched on a wide range of issues, including a proposed constitutional amendment requiring state lawmakers to limit increases in local property tax levies, the growth of data centers, partisan local elections and North Carolina’s private-school voucher program.
