Cabarrus County not included in May LGC agenda, delaying school project financing
LGC requests additional information as county officials target June review of roughly $200 million in school construction projects.
Cabarrus County had planned to present its financial package to the state’s Local Government Commission in May — a proposal focused around two major capital projects: a $134 million replacement for Northwest Cabarrus High School and a $63 million new elementary school in the county’s fast-growing northwest area.
But in an unexpected development, Cabarrus County was not included on the commission’s May 5 agenda, released earlier this week.
