Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis City Schools will again go remote Wednesday amid icy conditions
Students have now missed multiple days of in-person instruction over the past two weeks following Winter Storms Fern and Gianna.

Both Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis City Schools will shift to remote learning on Wednesday, Feb. 4, as icy road conditions persist across parts of Cabarrus County, district officials announced Tuesday.
Students have missed multiple days of in-person instruction over the past two weeks due to Winter Storm Fern and Winter Storm Gianna.
In a weather update, Cabarrus County Schools said the decision was made with student and staff safety as the top priority amid lingering impacts from winter weather.
All Cabarrus County Schools buildings will be closed to students Wednesday, with students participating in remote learning. Schools will share assignments and expectations directly with families, and students and parents are instructed to log on to their individual school websites for remote learning instructions.

Kids:Plus programs will be closed, and all afterschool and athletic activities are canceled for the day.
District staff have been instructed to work remotely and to monitor district communications and guidance from supervisors for additional instructions.
Kannapolis City Schools announced a similar plan, confirming that all KCS buildings will be closed to students Wednesday due to continued icy road conditions.
According to Kannapolis City Schools, students will participate in remote learning, with schools communicating assignments and expectations directly to families.
Staff members are asked to work remotely and to watch for additional communication from district leadership and supervisors. Some buildings will be open for staff who require an on-campus workspace, with details to be provided later.
