Cabarrus County Schools enters new school year with budget largely settled and teacher vacancies down

While the district received less local funding than requested, nearly all proposed cuts were avoided as officials report one of their strongest staffing positions in recent years.

With less than a month before students return to classrooms, Cabarrus County Schools officials say two of the district’s biggest questions heading into the 2026-27 school year — funding and staffing — are largely in good shape.
