Cabarrus County Schools officials, board members concerned about projected lack of local funding for school system
The county's recommended budget included roughly $16 million in total capital for Cabarrus County Schools, about $224 million less than the district requested.
As part of the recommended fiscal year 2025-26 county budget, which was unveiled last week, County Manager Sean Newton allocated $99 million for Cabarrus County Schools as part of its continuation budget.
That’s about $2.4 million less than what the district had requested, which was roughly $102 million.
