The school board members and state legislators talked about the five legislative priorities for the district.

Recruiting and retaining strong teachers. Strengthening funding for Exceptional Children services. Ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

Those priorities framed a wide-ranging legislative discussion Monday night as the Cabarrus County Board of Education met with N.C. House Reps. Jonathan Almond and Brian Echevarria, along with N.C. Sen. Chris Measmer, to outline the district’s most urgent needs.
