Several commissioners also supported a 1 percent teacher supplement increase, which was not already included in the proposed budget.

County Manager Sean Newton unveiled the $548 million recommended fiscal year 2025-26 budget during Monday’s County Commissioners meeting.

The decision to maintain the current tax rate of 57.6 cents per $100 of assessed value faced some resistance from certain commissioners.
