Children’s Book by Concord Author Explores How Even Dinosaurs Can Learn to Be Kind

Lucas Klauss has always had a love of reading. As the son of a librarian, he grew up around books.

He later took several creative writing courses in college, focused on youth literature before receiving his MFA in Writing for Children from The New School in New York City.

Now, Klauss, 42, who is also a part-time librarian assistant at the new Afton Ridge library, is hoping to share his passion for reading to young children, as his first picture book, “Surprise Dinosaur!” was published last month. Mike Moran was the illustrator.
