Chris Hill promoted to Kannapolis police chief

The 17-year department veteran has risen from patrol officer to deputy chief and will succeed retiring Chief Terry Spry.

Chris Hill, a 17-year veteran of the Kannapolis Police Department who has risen through the ranks from patrol officer to deputy chief, has been promoted to the city’s chief of police.

Hill will become the 13th police chief in Kannapolis’ 114-year history and only the fifth since the city’s incorporation in 1984.
