City Confirms Shooting at Concord’s Tree Lighting Ceremony
Concord Mayor Bill Dusch and Mayor-Elect Steve Morris are both okay.
The City of Concord has now confirmed the shooting on its social media channels.
“There was a shooting at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony just before 7:30 p.m.,” the City posted on Facebook. “The remainder of the event is cancelled and visitors are advised to leave the area, and drivers should seek alternate routes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5027.”
A resident also messaged me to say that Concord Mayor Bill Dusch and Mayor-elect Steve Morris are both safe.

Thanks, as always, for reliable and punctual reporting.
