Dr. John Kopicki, superintendent of Cabarrus County Schools, laid bare the consequences if the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners did not fund the construction of a new 940-seat elementary school in the Northwest area.

“I cannot emphasize to you enough, if you put off building that school, we will definitely have to cap schools,” Kopicki told the commissioners during a two-hour budget meeting on Wednesday.
