A county emergency response unit that has operated in Cabarrus County for nearly a decade could soon be phased out.

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners is set to vote Monday on the future of Fire Squad 410, a supplemental emergency response unit that has assisted volunteer fire departments across Cabarrus County since 2017.
