Downtown Concord is officially reopen for business
The city celebrates the new and improved downtown with a daylong Grand Opening Streetscape Block Party.
Hordes of people descended on downtown Concord Saturday in a jubilant and festive mood.
And who could blame them? After years of constant construction, including several stop-and-starts as 100+ year-old underground infrastructure had to be dealt with, the streetscape project to improve downtown was completed.
New businesses have recently opened with a few more on the horizon, while the sidewalks have widened and there is plenty of greenery and enhanced lighting.
Even though the downtown has been reopen for quite some time, Saturday felt like an official rebirth. So it only made sense for the residents to come out and celebrate.
