The Trump administration will release more than $5.5 billion in frozen federal education funds, ending a weeks-long standoff that sparked legal action, bipartisan criticism, and widespread concern among school leaders across the country — including in Cabarrus County.

This includes $165 million that was intended for schools across North Carolina.
