Marsha Pharr remembers the date that changed her life.

Sept. 29, 1992.

After years of struggling with addiction, she reached a turning point, making a promise to God that she would never return to the life she had been living.

More than 34 years later, she has kept that promise.

Her journey toward sobriety wasn’t simply about overcoming addiction. It was about becoming a better mother, daughter, sister, friend and member of her community.

Now, the retired Army veteran is determined to help other women experience that same transformation — especially those who have been overlooked, rejected or written off by others.
