Inspired by their teachers, two Cabarrus students earn PowerEd scholarships to follow in their footsteps

The two $7,500 awards are the first student scholarships given by PowerEd Cabarrus, marking a new chapter in the organization’s work to support the next generation of educators.

Sometimes it only takes one teacher to ignite a lifelong passion for learning.

For Central Cabarrus High School senior Heidi Adamou and Cox Mill High School senior Kaleb McCarty, that spark was lit years ago — and it’s now guiding both toward careers in education.
