“It’s been a heck of a ride." Londa Strong looks back at over 40 years of service to Cabarrus County

The longtime Active Living and Parks director retired a few weeks ago.

It was around 2007 when Londa Strong recalls being called in to meet with Cabarrus County Manager John Day and Deputy County Manager Mike Downs.

She was fearing they would ask her to retire after more than 30 years with the county.

“My heart sank,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh no, they’re going to say: It’s time to go.’”
