Jeff Jones selected as new Cabarrus County Commissioner

Cabarrus County Clerk of Court Bill Baggs picked Jones, a local attorney, to fill the vacancy left by Chris Measmer.

A new county commissioner has been selected. Cabarrus County Clerk of Court Bill Baggs on Tuesday selected Jeff Jones to replace Chris Measmer on the commission.

Jones, a local attorney, was sworn in just a few minutes ago at the Cabarrus County Government Center.

Jones was not on the list of candidates who applied for the open seat that Measmer vacated when he was appointed to the North Carolina State Senate last month.
