Kannapolis leaders propose flat tax rate while reshaping spending priorities in $134.2 million budget
The proposal includes transit changes, utility rate increases, new public safety investments and efforts to reduce subsidies for entertainment venues.
The proposed Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget for the City of Kannapolis would keep the city’s property tax rate unchanged while increasing spending on employee compensation, infrastructure, public safety and core city services amid concerns about slowing revenue growth and rising operational costs.
