Kannapolis to reduce bus service as critics warn of harm to vulnerable riders
Plan would eliminate the Brown route and cut funding nearly in half while officials weigh shift to on-demand transit.

The Kannapolis City Council on Monday approved a strategic plan that includes significant cuts to the CK Rider bus system, more than halving the city’s annual contribution to the shared transit program with Concord.
Under the plan, Kannapolis’ cost would drop from about $1.5 million to roughly $733,000.
