LGC approves financing for two Cabarrus County schools, raises concerns about county debt

The commission approved a roughly $200 million limited obligation bond package for a new Northwest Cabarrus High School and northwest elementary school while urging stronger debt-management planning.

The Local Government Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved Cabarrus County’s limited obligation bond (LOB) package for two major Cabarrus County Schools construction projects: a $134 million replacement for Northwest Cabarrus High School and a $63 million elementary school planned for the county’s rapidly growing northwest area.
