New Organization Aims to Help Build Cabarrus County’s Next Generation of Educators

Catherine Thomas, executive director of PowerEd Cabarrus, hopes to eventually offer full-ride scholarships to students pursing degrees in education.

PowerEd Cabarrus was created to support students and teachers in Cabarrus County Schools.

Catherine Thomas has lived all over the world, yet Cabarrus County stands out.

“There is something so unique and so incredibly special about Cabarrus County, and it’s the people,” she told The Cabarrus Compass. “We have never lived in a community like this.”
