New Petition Urges City to Halt Massive Concord Farms Development
Petition opposing the roughly 2,000-home project cites traffic, school, and environmental concerns.
A newly launched Change.org petition is calling on the City of Concord to reject D.R. Horton’s ambitious plan to transform 550 acres at George W. Liles Parkway and Weddington Road into a sprawling mixed-use community.
The petition, created Aug. 2, warns that the proposed Concord Farms project— featuring 730 single-family homes, 326 townhomes, and 840 multifamily units — could significantly strain traffic, infrastructure, and the environment in the area.
