No instruments needed: Ball in the House brings all-vocal sound to Concord

The award-winning a cappella group will bring nearly three decades of R&B, soul, pop and Motown to the Davis Theatre on Oct. 2 — and share its music with Cabarrus County students.

Ball in the House does not need guitars, drums, keyboards or any other traditional instruments to put on a high-energy concert.

The five members need only one instrument: their voices.

For nearly three decades, the Boston-based a cappella group has blended R&B, soul, pop, Motown and contemporary music into performances created entirely through vocals.

On Oct. 2, Ball in the House will bring that sound to Concord’s Davis Theatre for the first time. The group will also perform for local students through the Cabarrus Arts Council’s Students Take Part in the Arts program.
