School board approves limited enrollment cap for part of Odell attendance area
New students north of N.C. Highway 73 will shift to Carl A. Furr Elementary under a temporary plan lasting until a new elementary school opens, likely in 2028.
The Cabarrus County Schools Board of Education on Monday approved a limited enrollment cap for a portion of the W.R. Odell attendance area, a step district leaders say is necessary as overcrowding at both W.R. Odell Primary and W.R. Odell Elementary continues to worsen and is expected to intensify in the coming years.
