“This ride is for a bigger cause." Concord Officers Cycle to D.C. for Fallen Comrades

Their journey spanned hundreds of miles — a powerful tribute to those who can no longer make the ride themselves.

As a solemn tribute to their fellow officers who died in the line of duty, two Concord police officers participated this year in the annual "Bike 2 DC - Ride to Honor" event.

Sgt. Julia Soares and Master Police Officer Javon Clark, along with Concord Police Chaplain Lonnie Clouse, joined a contingent of approximately 60 Charlotte-area officers on the four-day, 500-mile trek to the nation’s capital. Soares and Clark were sponsored by the Concord Police Foundation.
