Since leaving her position on the Cabarrus County Schools Board of Education last year, Keshia Sandidge has repeatedly shined a light on a vexing issue for the school system.

Her cris de coeur has been about the meal debt (including both breakfast and lunch) that many schools face each year—an issue she also raised as a board member.
